Valerie Macon/Getty ImagesThe Hollywood Foreign Press Association officially has named Greer Grammer as Miss Golden Globe 2015, and she couldn't be more excited about it!
The Awkward star talked to E! News about how and when she found out the news and even how her parents reacted! Greer is the daughter of actor Kelsey Grammer and his ex Barrie Buckner.
"I've known for a week, I found out when I was on vacation, about a week ago, I screamed, danced, jumped up and down!" she said. "I told my parents but I didn't want to, because I didn't want them telling anyone. I made them promise they wouldn't."
It looks like mum's the word, because Greer told us that her parents successfully managed to keep her big win to themselves despite being tempted on various occasions to let the secret slip.
"My mom told me a few times that whenever she'd run into friends she'd want to tell them but remembered she couldn't."
She said that her mom "couldn't even believe it," and that her Frasier-starring dad was "so proud."
Unlike other Hollywood notables who have won the honor in the past, the 22-year-old actress has already made name for herself on MTV's hit show, Awkward, in which she plays a dimwitted but loveable cheerleader.
Greer also has another title under her belt: She was crowned Miss Regional California Teen in 2011. Her pageant past has given her a leg up in preparing for the Golden Globes because she already is well versed in the art of high heels!
"I've got [walking on stage] covered," she said. "I know how to walk. I don't think anyone has given advice because they presume I already know."
She might be confident in walking across the stage at the glamorous awards show, but that doesn't mean she isn't nervous about meeting some of her celebrity role models and crushes! Greer opened up about whom she is most nervous to see, and it turns out it's an actress who also once played a ditzy character—Reese Witherspoon!
"That's the name I keep bringing up, because I've been a fan since I was like 10-years-old, Legally Blonde..."
As for celebrity crushes? She has "so many," but she was able to narrow it down to one man for us.
"I secretly love Tony Goldwyn," she confessed while blushing. "And he's going to be here tonight."
It's safe to say we all have a secret love for Fitz.
The 72nd Annual Golden Globes airs live on NBC from the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Jan. 11, 2015. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are returning as co-hosts.
