The presidential candidates didn’t get their chance to give back tonight.

As I told you on Monday, video messages from Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain were to be broadcast during tonight’s charity megafundraiser Idol Gives Back.

But the spots went MIA.

I initially thought this might have had to do with the McCain-camp spot. The first one they'd submitted apparently was not up to par for the glitzy, sleek show.

But a rep for Idol insists the candidates will have their say: “Several Idol Gives Back elements will be airing in tomorrow night’s show, including the presidential candidates.”

No word if that also includes Robin Williams’ crack that Paula Abdul would have a good shot at winning Russian reality show So You Think You Could Drink.
