How do I know this? Because it’s part of this week’s big People magazine exclusive on Lopez and her brood. And it’s not one of those typical celebrity magazine write-arounds.
Not only did Mr. and Mrs. Anthony sit down for an at-home interview, the 12-page spread includes the very first public photos of their less than 1-month-old newborns Max and Emme and a look inside their gazillion-dollar baby nursery.
In other words, Lopez and Anthony can no longer honestly claim (neither can their reps, for that matter) that they don't comment on their personal lives. If you really want to be left alone, you don’t parade your kids and home around in a magazine like People.
The big rationale these days for celebs to give exclusives to magazines is that it kills the paparazzi’s potential to make mucho bucks off of scoring the very first shot of the babies. But you don’t need a magazine exclusive to do that. All ya gotta do is release one pic and call it a day.
So what’s behind Lopez and Anthony’s decision? Could it be a huge amount of ego? Or even worse, if the reported $6 million paycheck from People is correct, it looks like it could be a huge amount of greed.
But I got faith in Jenny from the Block. If she really wants to prove what a great mom she is, she’ll be donating every last nickel to charity.
