According to Deadline, the canceled drama, which ran for three seasons on A&E, could receive a fourth season from the streaming giant.
Negotiations between Netflix and Longmire producer Warner Horizon are said to still be ongoing, with a final deal yet to be closed. Netflix declined to comment.
The show's final episode on A&E had 3.7 million viewers, down from the previous season, but still a strong showing, especially for a cable drama.
The drama was canceled a few months ago. Robert Taylor starred as Sheriff Walt Longmire alongside Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff and Lou Diamond Phillips. Cassidy Freeman, Bailey Chase and Adam Bartley are also part of the ensemble cast.
This wouldn't be the first time Netflix revived a canceled show. Bringing Arrested Development back put the movie and TV service on the map. Netflix also recently gave The Killing, a canceled AMC drama, a final fourth season.
If Longmire does return from the dead, it would join the growing crop of revived TV shows. The Comeback recently returned to HBO after nine years off the air. Showtime is bringing Twin Peaks back to life with a new season in 2016, Veronica Mars returned on the big screen and Community will get its sixth season courtesy of Yahoo.
