Kris Humphries was probably hoping that he'd just be asked about basketball, but...

You can't fight the news cycle.

The Washington Wizards power forward was asked today, point-blank, during an interview with D.C.'s 106.7 The Fan what he thought of his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, posing completely nude—from top to bottom, front and back—for Paper magazine.

"I gotta ask you this, man," host Danny Rouhier began. "Listen. Yesterday there was like this thing that melted the Internet, and I'm sure you know what I'm talking about; what's that like on a day like yesterday? You go out and play well, and it's awesome—you can put distractions aside —but like, it's a unique position you're in. Are guys giving you a hard time? Or is it just something that's not a big deal at this stage?"

That's actually three questions...

"Well, you know," Humphries, 29, began, "I've always been a basketball-first kind of guy, and had a lot of success through everything. For me, it's just basketball, and that's where my outlet is, especially now. I'm on a team that's winning, and we're gonna be in the playoffs and do all that. It feels good. But everything else, I don't really pay a lot of attention to. And it's just..."

"Is it hard, though, on a day like yesterday?" interjected The Fan's Grant Paulsen. "Do you just stay off your phone? Or how does that work?"

"I mean, a lot of times I don't even know what's going on," Humphries said. "I'm on ESPN and basketball websites and stuff like that. I'm not someone who's paying attention to things that don't really matter in my world."

Speak of the devil, Kim actually talked about Kris, whom she was married to for 72 days before pulling the plug on their relationship back in 2011, in her interview with Paper. (For real, it was not just a photo shoot!)

"It's just one of those life lessons that you have to learn, and it's OK," the 34-year-old, who tied the knot with Kanye West in May, told the mag regarding that experience.

Sounds as though, except for "a day like today," these two worlds won't be colliding again anytime soon.
