Liam Hemsworth turned to none other than Jennifer Lawrence when he needed a boost while going through his breakup with Miley Cyrus.

The Hunger Games star opened up about how the bubbly actress helped him immensely during the difficult time and gave him some perspective about the split.

"Being around someone like Jen, who is so honest and laughs all day long, I am forced to be in the right now," he shared in an interview that's making the rounds online.

"I'm much happier…I'm more comfortable in my own skin than I've ever been."

The 24-year-old Aussie also admitted that he's in a much better place now in his life, and has a firmer grasp on the effects of his fame.

He shared, "For a few years I went down a path where I forgot to be in the moment."

Earlier this fall, Hemsworth's former fiancée opened up about whether or not the exes are on good terms.

During an interview with Australia's Sunday Night, Cyrus admitted that she still cares for the hunky actor, saying, "I love Liam," and added, "Liam loves me."

She also shared that her breakup ballad "Wrecking Ball" wasn't just all about Hemsworth, in fact, it was more about herself than anything.

"It's about finding yourself, and sometimes you have to separate yourself from everyone. I just had to become this person who is sitting in this chair right now," she explained in the sit-down chat.

"If I didn't, I just felt like there was something that was going to explode and I had to set myself free."
