The next step in Hannah's random series of steps on Girls?

A move to Iowa! For a prestigious writing program! Where she snacks on grapes! And actually likes it!

Lena Dunham's hit HBO series is set to return for its fourth season on Jan. 11, and we finally have our first look at all the shenanigans in store for us with the first trailer. Happy Friday, everybody.

So what can we expect from Hannah, Marnie (Allison Williams), Jessa (Jemima Kirke) and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) come the new year? Oh, just an affair (Marnie!), an arrest (Jessa!) and dashed hopes and dreams (Everyone!). New season, same girls!

HBO also invited fans behind-the-scenes of the new season in the video below, which reveals that Elijah (now-series regular Andrew Rannells) moves to Hannah with Iowa, and that Marnie is having "an affair" with Desi, which Ray (Alex Karpovksy) is definitely not going to be OK with. "It's messy and kind of unexpected," Karpovsky says of the love triangle. And we finally get to meet Shosh's parents, with Saturday Night Live vet Ana Gasteyer, in a brilliant casting decision, playing her mother.

"This season of Girls is the girls making smarter choices and realizing that life is still hard," Dunham previews.

Along with the fourth season of Girls, Looking will return for its second season on Jan. 11, and Togetherness, a comedy from brothers Jay Duplass and Mark Duplass, will make its debut.

Girls returns Sunday, Jan. 11 on HBO.
