Khloé Kardashian and French Montana aren't exactly a couple again…yet.
"We're hanging out," the E! star told me this morning at the Glendale Galleria, where she helped launch DreamWorks Animation's Adventure to Santa experience. "I don't think there's a title on anything."
In fact, she said, she finds it "awkward" when people ask about the status of their romance. "I don't know what to say any more, because people go up and down in relationships. Sometimes you're there and sometimes you're not."
Kardashian dated the rapper for eight months before she ended things in September. Their summer trip to South Africa was even featured on the first episode of Kourtney & Khloé Take the Hamptons.
"I'm having fun," Kardashian said. "He was at Kendall's birthday."
And that's what sparked the latest round of speculation.
At the time of their split in September, a source told E! News that Montana wanted to save the relationship. However, the source said, "for all intents and purposes, Khloé is single again."
Kardashian also told me recently that it didn't bother her seeing Montana on the Hamptons installment of the Kardashians' reality television franchise.
"I had so much fun," she said a couple of weeks ago while promoting the season premiere. "The whole thing was cool."
She also said she really admires Montana's desire to live life to the fullest, which he demonstrated when he organized a safari.
"We were literally there for two days, but if there's 48 hours…he wants to be active and do something with all of those hours we have," Kardashian said, adding, "He pushed me to do things out of my comfort zone, which I really appreciate."
The two teamed up earlier this week and bought Sean "Diddy" Combs a white Escalade for his 45th birthday.
"Last year, French got Khloé a car for her birthday and gave it to her at a party Diddy hosted," an eyewitness told E! News. "This year, French and Khloé decided to buy Diddy a car and thought it would be fun to surprise him at his party."
The source added, "The car was parked out front and French walked Diddy outside for the surprise."
