Watch: Cara Delevingne Debuts American Accent

Looks like Cara Delevingne is going Method (well, sort of).

The 22-year-old supermodel, who landed the lead role for the forthcoming movie adaptation of Paper Towns in September, has been busy practicing her American accent for the film, opting to test out her skills while speaking with E! News at the Topshop VIP dinner in NYC on Tuesday.

"Excuse my American accent," the supermodel, who showed off her killer figure in a tiny LBD, joked on the red carpet. "I have to stick in it for a while."

Delevingne will play Margo, starring alongside Nat Wolff in the upcoming Jake Schreier-directed film, which is based on the popular YA novel of the same name by John Green (who also penned The Fault In Our Stars).

In September, Green praised Delevingne acting skills, gushing over the model's outstanding audition. "Cara Delievigne's audition blew everyone away (including me!) and she understands Margo profoundly. I am so excited!" he tweeted, later joking about his misspelling of her surname.

Director Jake Schreier also "seconded" John's rave reviews of Cara's audition, adding, "It was something special."

The model of the moment has begun "filming in North Carolina," but luckily, she revealed that she won't have to perfect her Southern twang.

"It's better when I have a few drinks, I'm sure," she quipped of her American English.

Delevingne made her acting debut back in June in the British short film Timeless.
