Former MLB Pitcher Brad Halsey Dead at 33

Left-handed athlete played for New York Yankees, Arizona Diamondbacks and Oakland Athletics between 2004 and 2006

Sad news to report from the baseball world...

Brad Halsey, a former left-handed MLB pitcher, died recently at the age of 33, according to a tweet by his agency, O'Connell Sports. His cause of death was not disclosed.

Per NBC Sports, Halsey spent three years in the majors from 2004 to 2006, pitching with the New York Yankees, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Oakland Athletics. After that, he played in the minor leagues through 2011.

Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, who covered Halsey in 2006, tweeted her condolences.

She also quoted one of Halsey's former Oakland A's teammates Huston Street, who said: "He was always cheerful, had a playful wit, and was deeply respected by his teammates."
