Someone is taking the "Trick" part a little too seriously today!

Eric Stonestreet, who is still reeling from the World Series loss of his hometown Kansas City Royals,  tweeted a link to a Clickhole.com story about the cancellation of Modern Family with the comment "so sad."

The headline on the story: "Whoa: ABC Just Canceled Modern Family In Order To Teach People That Something You Love Can Be Taken From You With No Warning Whatsoever"

If he wants us all to feel what he felt when the Royals lost, well...Mission accomplished, you evil genuis!

Naturally, fans were shocked and up in arms over the "cancellation" of the hit ABC comedy. The thing is, Modern Family isn't canceled. Clickhole is a satire site run by the fine folks who also provide you amusement over at The Onion.

Some choice replies: "stay strong, friend. the holidays have many santa openings at the locals malls, you'll make it through this." and  "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! :______("

But some of Stonestreet's followers were wise to ways of Clickhole. The site also features satire articles with headlines such as:

"What We're Really Saying When We Make Fun Of Julia Roberts' New Arm" and "Best Halloween Costume Ever? This Woman Dressed Up As A Car"

This isn't the first time readers have been tricked by satire articles about TV shows getting canceled. News of Orange Is the New Black's demise was widespread after site Empire News posted a fictitious article with quotes attributed to real Netflix executives. The same site also had people believing artist Bansky had been caught.

Repeat: Modern Family is not canceled. The show just took home its fourth Emmy and is one of the top-rated comedies on TV. Rest easy, folks. And Eric...It's gonna be OK. Come stop by our E! offices and we can drown in a bucket of candy with you.
