"My religion is truth."

These four little words from Diane von Furstenberg sum up what you might love most about House of DVF, the new E! series premiering this Sunday, in which the fashion icon searches for a new Brand Ambassador out of 10 hopeful young women.

While "reality TV" has shifted more and more toward the moniker "unscripted" in the past decade, House of DVF is bringing the term REALITY back with a vengeance. And proving that authenticity can make for some really good TV.

The honesty and candor are unexpected and...fully entertaining.

"The truth is, my religion is truth," Diane tells us. "That's what I practice. And it's a big job to practice truth. But if you do it every day, it's like pruning a tree, it's wonderful. I think that's what comes out in the show. It's very honest and very real."

House of DVF is such a refreshing take on the whole "reality" thing, it could very well start a new trend, and it wouldn't be the first time Diane von Furstenberg was a trend-setter, ammIright, wrap-dress owners of the world!?

3. Diane Herself Is Hilarious, Caring and Candid:  You'll die laughing at some of the gems that fly out of the fashion icon's mouth, and at her ingenious way of letting the girls know they've been eliminated. Have you ever been fired by your boss autographing you a book?  "You can be glamorous and funny and be nice and be real," Diane explains. "And yet we're still going to have a good time!"

4. Diane's Bond with the Girls Is Surprisingly Tight: "I haven't known you long but I love all of you," Diane tells the girls in the first episode, prompting a few laughs because it's just….So soon! But the fashion maven stands behind her brand of insta-affection. "I do that. Sometimes I connect with people in the elevator. If you're curious about people, you do that!" she says, adding that her relationship with the girls has extended far beyond the show. "All these girls they won't leave me alone," she cracks. "I'm having lunch with the winner. They email me all the time."

5. The Casting Is Spot On: From the Staten Island girl who will take your breath away with her unfiltered catchphrases (and florescent-choker fashion choices—yeow!), to the young woman who insists she's spent more than $500,000 on her wardrobe (fun fact: you can't put a price on tact and humility), to the adorably naïve and sweet Mormon girl who seems plucked from another planet, these women are not aspiring actresses. They are completely legit, raw and uncensored, and it all just works.

6. You'll Actually Feel Good About Watching. "We wanted this show to be fun and entertaining but also something that has good messages," Diane tells us. "You can have a good time and still empower women. My mission in life is to empower women and so I hope this show will do that."
