For Elle Fanning, Maleficent provided a number of firsts.

Chief among them: meeting Angelina Jolie! "It was my first time coming out to London," the 16-year-old actress explains in an exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette. "We were doing hair tests and makeup tests—the whole thing. We were in Pinewood Studios and I turn the corner and there was Angelina."

Jolie was unlike her villainous character. "I had never met her before or anything and she gave me a big hug and was like, 'We're just gonna have so much fun together! It's gonna be so great,'" Fanning says. Jolie, 39, says Fanning was a delight on set, raving, "From the moment I met her, she is just sunshine. She's a wonderful, sweet, intelligent young woman. I'm quite in awe of her. She's such a capable actress and she's such a strong person, which is nice because this Aurora is not just in love with the flowers."

Maleficent has earned $700 million at the worldwide box office, and on Nov. 4, it will be released on Blu-ray combo pack, digital HD, Disney Movies Anywhere, DVD and on-demand. They will include five deleted scenes—"Stefan in King's Chamber," "Pixie Idiots," "Diaval Asks About the Curse," "Pixies Seek Asylum" and "Suitor"—plus other bonus features, including cast interviews and a costume featurette.

Jolie has often said that Maleficent is her favorite Disney villain, so embodying the Mistress of Evil was a dream come true. Still, transforming into the Sleeping Beauty character was no easy task. "I'm not the most patient person in the world," she told E! News in May of having her makeup done and wearing prosthetics. "But then that would work, too, because if I was irritated it was great for the character."

The outfit helped her let go and lose herself in the role. "I've never done anything this big. I'm not really a theater actress and I'm not a comedian," Jolie told E! News. "I had to decide to just play and really do my best to just think of the fans and try to entertain and be silly and be what they needed me to be."
