Jep Robertson is on the mend after recently suffering a major health scare, which left the Duck Dynasty star fearing for his life

The 36-year-old reality star was rushed to the hospital and treated for a seizure less than two weeks ago after he collapsed while hunting in Louisiana, and in an interview with ABC News, the youngest son of bearded patriarch Phil Robertson, says doctors have yet to discover the reason behind his medical emergency.

"I reached to get my bow and that's kind of the last I remember," he recalls. "I just crumpled to the ground and they said I had a seizure for like five minutes."

Following the incident, the Duck Dynasty family released a statement to E! News over the weekend, letting fans know that Jep was undergoing "additional tests and observation and he is being treated with antibiotics to cover a range of possible infections believed to have caused the seizure."

Still, despite his successful road to recovery, Robertson tells ABC News, "I thought I was a goner."

Because Jep was hunting in a remote area, it took the ambulance over two hours to arrive. Luckily, his brother Willie was in a hunting camp close by and immediately rushed to his sibling's side.

"It took them about an hour and a half to two hours before the ambulance got there," Jep Robertson's wife, Jessica Robertson, says.

According to ABC, Robertson was sedated by doctors and remained on a ventilator for four days in the hospital's intensive care unit, during which time he has no recollection of his medical scare.

"The time I remember is Thursday -- waking up Thursday, looking around, asking Jess, ‘What are we doing in the hospital?'" he said. "I had no idea what had happened four days before."

The cause of his seizure has yet to be discovered even though doctors performed a spinal tap, an EEG and CT scan. "They think it was mix between meningitis and encephalitis," Robertson, who was discharged from the hospital on Monday, revealed. "For the last month, I've mispronounced words and I didn't know why I did it, but I think it was leading up to the seizure."

In the meantime, the father of four has been busy supporting niece Sadie Robertson, who is competing on this season's DWTS, and he's itching to get back in the woods for hunting season, although he'll have to wait a month to ensure a full recovery.

"I'm mad about it, I'm real mad about it," the bearded reality star admits.

Meanwhile, Duck Dynasty's season 7 is set to premiere on Nov. 19
