We're calling it: The bob is back! (Not like it ever really left.)
"@kristin_ess stole a couple more inches this morning," Conrad wrote, next to a close-up photo of the stylist at work.
Most interesting about Lauren's new cut? It shows that she has had a major change of heart (and hair preference) since an interview she gave to People earlier this year.
"No, I'll never go bob again," Conrad told the magazine back in March, referring to the brief bob moment she had in 2007.
The star did eventually relent to the fact that going short doesn't necessarily mean you have to stay that way for long.
"I think you can always throw extensions in and have long hair. There are options," she said.
And with her hair going ever-shorter over the last week, we believe the no-bob ban has been lifted. She debuted the original cut—a longer below-the-shoulder style—on Oct. 22, announcing the new 'do as her "first haircut in years." The style was beachy and familiar for the star, who showcased soft waves and her signature sunny-blond color. The photo of the new cut shows Conrad with pin-straight locks that fall to just over her shoulder.
Conrad's longtime hairstylist, Kristin Ess, posted a shot of the (maybe) final look: "On set today giving this cutie some catnip and a hair flip," she captioned the photo, which shows Conrad playing kitten in a cobalt blue top and cat-eye sunglasses. So cute!
But Lauren isn't the only celeb that been playing with hair length in recent days—actress Emma Roberts took out her extensions for a shoot yesterday, showcasing a sexy face-skimming bob and a bold red lip on Instagram.
Captioning the photo simply with "Teenage dream," Roberts posed in a feathered, décolletage-baring look. And talk about chic factor—her hair looks damp and textured in the photo, and the soft waves frame her face perfectly.
What do you think of these shorter new 'dos?
