Is that really you, Kevin Smith?!

Believe it or not, it really is the writer-director—he's just nearly unrecognizable without his signature facial hair! On Sunday, the 44-year-old announced on Twitter he was going to shave off his "magic beard" for his upcoming movie Yoga Yoga Hosers, and the following day, he did just that!

He tweeted a selfie of his hairless, bare face Monday, writing, "Look at this goofy spaz. This is me, beardless, for the #YogaHosers green screen shoot. #FaceBrazilian."

Smith's lack of scruff wasn't the only thing that looked different, though—he was noticeably slimmer, too. He dropped a staggering 65 pounds back in 2012 after an embarrassing airplane incident (he was allegedly kicked off a flight because he was too "fat" for his seat) but he's lost even more weight recently.

Last week, in fact, Smith revealed he was down 20 pounds after 17 days of consuming no added or processed sugar. He Instagrammed a shot of himself taking his Dachshund pup for a walk, adding jokingly, "Feeling so good, I'm hiking the hills with my wiener out."

It's unclear whether Smith is monitoring his diet more for health reasons or for Yoga Hosers, the indie film starring Johnny Depp and his daughter Lily-Rose Depp. Smith's daughter, Harley Quinn Smith, will also appear in the action-adventure film..

Smith is the writer and director of Yoga Hosers, the second movie in his True North trilogy, and based on his comments about filming in front of a green screen for the flick, it seems he's going to be seen on camera as well.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Yoga Hosers centers on two 15-year-old "yoga nuts," played by his daughter and Depp's, who have after-school jobs at a Manitoba convenience store. When "an ancient evil ruses from beneath Canada's crust and threatens their invitation to a Grade 12 party," the teens "join forces with a legendary man-hunter from Montreal"—a character played by Depp.

"People always ask me, 'Are you ever going to make a comic book movie?'" Smith told THR. "This is it—but instead of yet another dude saving the day, our antiheroes are the most feared and formidable creatures man has ever encountered: two 15-year-old girls."

Yoga Hosers is due out sometime in 2015.
