Todd Chrisley is known to keep his children in line.

On his hit reality show, Chrisley Knows Best, the proud dad is not afraid to speak his mind in regards to his kids' fashion, social outings and even their dating lives.

But when it comes to his eldest son, Kyle Chrisley, Todd admits he's found himself in a hard spot.

"Kyle is bipolar and normally, people that are bipolar, they seek out a way to self-medicate, which is what Kyle has done since he's been young," he told E! News exclusively Friday. "I want what's best for him."

Unfortunately, Todd found himself in an even more difficult situation when Kyle blasted his father in an interview with the Daily Mail. In the piece, Kyle describes his dad as toxic and a snake who has "ruined me and he's ruined the other three kids he's had who are spoiled."

"It's unfortunate," Todd revealed to E! News after learning about the interview. "It's not telling the truth. When we were made aware of the story [Thursday] night, our publicist reached out to the editor and made her aware of the situation and the severity of Kyle's situation and her comment to our publicist was, ‘Well, we're going to run the story anyways. Kyle has a right to say what he wants to say and besides, it will be great for your ratings.'"

Another allegation that upset Todd greatly was the idea that Kyle's daughter, Chloe, is on the reality show only because she's a mixed-race child and that "would be good for his demographic."

"That is not true," Todd proclaimed. "That is probably the most hurtful thing in the article. I'm not going to focus on Kyle's stories because that's my son and I love him."

Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, currently have custody of baby Chloe. Todd has not been able to locate his oldest son since he moved out of his grandma's house seven months ago.

And for those rumors that Todd banned his son from filming season two, that also couldn't be farther from the truth.

"I didn't kick Kyle off the show," he explained to E! News. "He refused to take his medication. He was hostile to the crew. He was hostile to other people on the show and you can't have that."

He added, "I want what's best for him and I will get him the help he needs once we locate him."

Watch Chrisley Knows Best Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. on USA Network.
