Duck Dynasty star Jep Robertson had a major health scare last weekend—he suffered a seizure while hunting deer.

The 36-year-old, the youngest son of bearded patriarch Phil Robertson, creator of the Duck Commander duck call, and wife Kay Robertson, was rushed to a hospital and is on the road to recovery. The cause of his seizure has not yet been discovered.

"Well, I about died this past Sunday...I'm doing much better now," Jep tweeted on Saturday. "Thanks for all the prayers! #seizuresuck #gladtobealive

"Earlier this week while deer hunting, Jep suffered from a seizure," the Duck Dynasty family said in a statement to E! News. "Thankfully, he was in the stand with friends, and [brother] Willie was at the hunting camp when it occurred so he was by his side in a matter of minutes."

The family lives in Louisiana. The statement said that after the incident, Jep was rushed to a hospital and was treated immediately.

"He is doing well now, but is still in the hospital for additional tests and observation and he is being treated with antibiotics to cover a range of possible infections believed to have caused the seizure," the family added.

"Our family would like to thank everyone for their love and support and ask that you keep Jep, Jessica and their children in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time," the family said.

Jep, whose full name is Jules Jeptha Robertson, and wife Jessica Robertson are parents to four kids, Lily, Merritt, Priscilla, and River. Jep and Jessica celebrated their anniversary earlier this month.

"Happy Anniversary Babe! I couldn't imagine life without you! You are #myrock," Jep tweeted on Oct. 7.

Jep's brothers Wllie Robertson, Alan Robertson and Jase Robertson also appear on Duck Dynasty. Season 7 of the A&E reality show is set to premiere on Nov. 19
