Django Unchained actress Daniele Watts, along with her boyfriend Brian James Lucas, has been charged with lewd acts committed in public.

Additionally, Lucas has been charged with soliciting a person to engage in lewd acts in public view.

The two were originally detained on Sept. 11 after police responded to a citizen's complaint about the two allegedly engaging in a sexual act inside of a Mercedes-Benz with the door open in broad daylight.

Shortly after being held by police, the actress took to Facebook to claim her innocence.

"I was handcuffed and detained…after refusing to agree that I had done something wrong by showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place," she wrote

"When the officer arrived, I was standing on the sidewalk by a tree. I was talking to my father on my cell phone. I knew that I had done nothing wrong, that I wasn't harming anyone, so I walked away."

Lucas also shared her hypothesis on why he and his girlfriend were accosted by cops in the first place.

"I could tell that whoever called on us (including the officers), saw a tatted RAWKer white boy and hot bootie shorted black girl and thought we were a HO (prostitute) & a TRICK (client)," he posted on his Facebook page. "This is something that happened to her and her father when she was 16. What an assumption to make!!!"

At the time, police officials told E! News that they had determined no crime had been committed and the two were later released.

Should Watts be found guilty, she faces a maximum sentence of six months in county jail as well as a $1,000 fine.

Watts concluded her lengthy Facebook rant shortly after her run-in with police on a positive note.

"Today I exist with courage, knowing that I am blessed to have experienced what I did today. All of those feelings, no matter how uncomfortable. These feelings are what builds my internal strength, my ability to grow through WHATEVER may happen to me."
