Get excited! The first look at the concept art for Disney's CG-animated flick Moana was unveiled earlier today.

Walt Disney Animation Studios also announced that the Ron Clements and John Musker film is slated to hit theaters in late 2016.

This marks the first CG-animated flick for the team, who is responsible for The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and The Princess and the Frog.

So far very little has been revealed about the highly anticipated movie, with only the plot summary being made public.

The studio's 56th animated feature takes place in the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania and follows Moana, a traveler in search of a fabled island.

Throughout her magnificent journey, she partners up with Maui, her hero and a legendary demi-god, to help her navigate the undoubtedly action-packed journey.

Musker explained a bit more about the lead character in the following statement:

"Moana is indomitable, passionate and a dreamer with a unique connection to the ocean itself. She's the kind of character we all root for, and we can't wait to introduce her to audiences."

The release date and first-look announcement comes merely weeks before Disney releases their next feature film, Big Hero 6.

The studio has two Pixar films in the pipeline for next year as well: Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur.
