Homeland: Why We Were Yelling Obscenities At Our TV Screens Tonight

Carrie crossed a whole new line on tonight's episode of the Showtime drama

We thought we were back on board, Homeland, we really did. We thought we had figured out that if we thought of Carrie as more of the anti than the hero, we could stomach to watch Carrie be exactly as bad of a mother and a person as we would expect her to be. It was working, until the end of tonight's episode, when she sort of coerced her new charge – a possibly-a-terrorist kid who just wanted help getting out of Pakistan – into sex.

Aayan, who is usually just referred to as "the kid," was once pitied as the sole survivor of the drone strike on the wedding in the premiere. Tonight, we discovered that he was not just a victim who had lost his family, and was actually in contact with the known terrorist who was thought to have died in the strike. Uncle Haqqani is still alive, but all Aayan seems to care about is going to medical school in London.

With his terrorist ties now in question, the CIA doesn't want to risk helping him. As usual, Carrie doesn't listen to the CIA. Instead, she invites him to a safe house under the guise of giving him asylum and getting to London, and helps him make up the couch for a bed. She starts with some casual knee-rubbing, and soon they're making out. She asks him if he's ever done this before. He hasn't. They continue.

He didn't seem super into it at first, but what could he do when Carrie was his only ticket out of Islamabad? Sure, it was probably a strategic move (albeit a weird one), but doesn't Carrie remember what happened last time she started sleeping with a work contact? If we know anything, it's that this is not going to end well, and we're not sure we want to stick around to watch.

We will, of course, because we have to see how Saul (and Quinn, who now seems to be in love with Carrie) is going to react to this move. We don't think it's going to be pretty.
