Yes, that's Ansel Elgort, and yes, that's the bench from one of the most memorable scenes in The Fault in Our Stars!

The 20-year-old actor, who starred opposite Shailene Woodley in the teenage drama, paid a visit to the iconic bench in Amsterdam Thursday. There just so happened to some fans of the movie who had the same idea, and they were quite surprised (and excited) when Gus himself showed up!

Ansel was just as happy to meet them, it seemed. He Instagrammed a picture Thursday of himself warmly embracing a fan, captioning the sweet shot, "Free hugs in Amsterdam :)"

In the caption of another all-smiles snap, Ansel exclaimed excitedly, "Found the bench! :)"

On Friday, he dropped by the bench again. "Asked two people kissing on the bench if that was the bench from tfios," he wrote, posting another shot of himself on the iconic bench. "Was a great moment, then asked them to take a pic for me."

Ansel and TFIOS fans are fortunate they're still able visit the bench from the movie. In July, it was stolen inexplicably from its location and replaced with a large potted plant. Fortunately, just a few days later it was returned to its proper spot, thus giving fans (and the film's stars, apparently) a place to convene and even talk about the romantic kiss between Gus (Ansel) and Hazel (Woodley) that happened there!

In real life, the twosome, who also co-starred in Divergent, "share a certain love," Ansel told The Guardian, "but it's a friendship love."

But The Fault In Our Stars is "more than a love story," he said, "it's like the opposite of Romeo and Juliet–it's not lust; it's real love. And, y'know, they have sex just because they're in Amsterdam and are probably never going to have sex otherwise–so let's do it, I guess. But really, they're there just because they love each other. That's why it's refreshing because it's not, like, cheesy luurve."
