Why settle for a ringtone when you can have a Sting Tone?

On Thursday's Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon told Sting he "thought it'd be kind of cool" if the Grammy winner would sing his own version of "the classic cellphone ringtones...and call them Sting Tones!"

"OK," the 63-year-old musician replied gamely. He first scatted off a version of Marimba, the default iPhone ringtone, then sang his version of Xylophone, the tone many Apple users have as their alarm.

"It actually sounds like a Police song," Jimmy said of Sting's ring recreation.

"I know! I could make a fortune off that," the artist said, telling the late-night host jokingly, "Don't worry, I'll give you a cut."

That wasn't all, though. Jimmy announced that he was "going to pick a random person out of the audience," telling Sting, "and you're going to personally record their outgoing voicemail message!"

Once again, the "Every Breath You Take" singer replied with a game, "OK!"

The lucky Tonight Show audience member was a man named Sandor who was visiting from Hungary. "That's fantastic," Jimmy said of how far Sandor had traveled. "Welcome to the show!"

Sandor apologized for his device, saying, "Sorry, it's an old phone," then admitting of its cracked screen, "I dropped it once or twice...three times."

Then, with some help from Jimmy unlocking the phone and finding where to record a custom greeting, Sting began to sing "Message on a Voicemail" to the tune of "Message in a Bottle." The Tonight Show host made sure to hit record at the beginning and end of the clip, meaning Sandor's going back to Hungary with one heck of an outgoing voice message!
