Katie Holmes will be wearing Jackie O's pearls once again. Holmes will reprise her The Kennedys role of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis for ReelzChannel's follow-up, The Kennedys: After Camelot.

In 2011, Holmes starred opposite Greg Kinnear, Barry Pepper and Tom Wilkinson in the original eight-part miniseries that hopped from History Channel to Reelz following some controversy. Holmes will serve as executive producer and direct one of the four episodes of the After Camelot miniseries. Jon Cassar, director of the original miniseries, will helm the other three episodes and also serve as en executive producer, E! News has confirmed.

The Kennedys: After Camelot is based on Randy Taraborrelli's book After Camelot: A Personal History of the Kennedy Family 1968 to the Present. Production is slated to begin in the spring of 2015.

"The Kennedys was a brilliant execution of storytelling based on the lives of one of the world's best known families. We are delighted that we were able to step up and acquire the broadcast rights to that property and we have every confidence that this new miniseries will be as enthusiastically received as the last one," Stan E. Hubbard, CEO of ReelzChannel, said in a statement. "Katie elegantly portrayed Jackie Kennedy in the first miniseries and now will continue the role as Jackie grows into the Jackie O that the world knows best. Katie is brave, committed and perfect for this role. She is a strong, talented woman who understands how special and respected Jackie Kennedy, and then Jackie Onassis was, as an international icon."

You know what this means? We'll likely see Holmes in old lady makeup as Jackie O.

This is Holmes' first TV role since 2011 when she appeared in The Kennedys and How I Met Your Mother. She was previously attached to star in an ABC drama opposite Melissa George that did not make it past the pilot stage.

No premiere date has been set.
