FXIf you thought American Horror Story's new big bad, Twisty the Clown, was terrifying with that face mask on, holy hell, were you in for the shock of a lifetime tonight when the dang thing dropped off his face!
Or rather, make that what is left of his face.

"Something really terrible has happened to Twisty's face," co-creator Ryan Murphy, a k a Captain Obvious, tells us. And we will find out Twisty's "origin story"—which is based on an urban legend—in episode five. We are most definitely busy washing our hair that night.
So was tonight's disgusting Twisty face reveal the craziest American Horror Story moment of all time? Ummmm...Probably not!

By the way, just to make you feel even more like a chicken, Ryan Murphy also told me that the little boy who was there for the filming of the mask drop--the one being held captive in that cage, thinks Twisty is...wait for it..."in some ways HILARIOUS." Not kidding!
"When you're on a soundstage and you're on a fake bus," Murphy explains, "and you have the actor playing Twisty eating jelly beans in between takes…We make sure with kids on the show that it is kept light. But you know, he was an actor and he wanted to be good in his scenes and he wanted to convey a terror that he said he himself did not share in life. He doesn't have a huge fear of clowns."
Does he conduct therapy sessions?! 'Cause we're in the market.
