Stephen Collins is alive and well.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers swarmed the 7th Heaven star's home in Tarzana, Calif., Tuesday evening after witnesses reported to authorities that they heard "a distinct pop."

Police immediately rushed to the residence in fear that someone may have used a gun or even committed suicide.

With further investigation, however, police learned nobody, including Collins, was inside the home. NBC News can also confirm the LAPD was able to communicate with the actor via Facetime to ensure he was safe.

The scary situation comes as Collins is being investigated by police after he allegedly confessed to molesting young girls on multiple occasions. In an audiotape obtained by TMZ, the 67-year-old actor is heard recalling past incidents with a therapist and his ex, actress Faye Grant, with whom he's in the midst of divorcing.

In an exclusive statement to E! News, Grant said, "I had no involvement whatsoever with the release of the tape to the media."

As a result of the investigation, Collins has already faced severe consequences.

A production source confirmed to E! News that Collins will no longer appear in Ted 2. Collins has also resigned from his position on the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild, Pamela Greenwalt, Chief Communications and Marketing Officer, confirmed to E! News.

Collins is perhaps best known for his role as Reverend Eric Camden on The WB's religious family drama 7th Heaven. The series ran for more than 10 years.

All 7th Heaven reruns have since been pulled from UP TV's schedule.

"As a top family-friendly network, we are deeply concerned for the families that are potentially affected by these disturbing allegations surrounding actor Stephen Collins," UP TV President Charley Humbard said in a statement. "7th Heaven has been a beloved family show and a fan-favorite on our network. We have made the decision to remove the series from our schedule."

Collins' attorney has not returned E! News' request for comment.
