Charlotte Tilbury is a major name in makeup. She's beloved in the fashion world and can still be found backstage at tons of shows—Last month she did several in New York, London, and Paris. She's BFF with the world's biggest supermodels—Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne to name a few. And her work can be seen on magazine covers and red carpets.

In fact, the British pro's reach is so wide that a lot of times even when she doesn't have a hand in prepping a star directly her influence can still be seen. How? Well, her makeup line is insanely popular among celebrity artists. So quite frequently it is a lip gloss or eye shadow from her very own collection that is being applied to Anna Paquin, Kim Kardashian or Kate Mara.

In short: This is one Glam Squad Q&A you don't want to miss. So go ahead, read on!

How long have you been a makeup artist?
I've been a makeup artist for over 20 years. I became obsessed with it when I was a teenager and even back then I would do makeovers on all my friends.

What was a pivotal moment in your career?
I had been working so hard to get noticed in the industry, cold-calling hundreds of magazines and brands, and I was almost ready to give up when I received a note from a beauty editor I had previously worked with. It said "Knock it to them Charlotte, I know you'll be a star." Stars have now become an integral part of my signature. I believe everyone has a halo, and can achieve their goals if they put their mind to it.

What are a few of your favorite red carpet looks that you've created?
I hate picking favorites! I adore Penelope Cruz's Oscar look from this year—she is the ultimate Dolce Vita. I created the look in homage to her sultry Mediterranean beauty. The burnished bronzes and coppers in the Luxury Palette are universally flattering and create mesmerizing eyes and it's partnered with a nude-pink sultry lip, named after Penelope.

What items are always in your kit?
1.Magic Cream:
This iss my number one essential. I never start a makeup look without it. It literally floods the skin with moisture and is packed with powerful active ingredients to turn around tired, dull and dehydrated skin.

2. Wonderglow: This beauty fixes hung-over skin in an instant. It contains breakthrough Fluorescent Core Technology which re-emits natural light through the skin for a lit-from-within effect. It's Gisele in a jar!

3.Rock N Kohl Iconic Liquid Pencil: I'm never without a feline flick and this revolutionary hybrid glides on like a liquid and smokes up like a kohl for the perfect cateye in seconds.

4. The Retoucher: It's like sleep in a pen. It erases under eye circles and imperfections with the swipe of a brush.

5. Eyelash Curlers: I use Shu Uemura curlers because they act like a push-up bra for your lashes, boosting them for full, fluttering and fabulous lashes in ten seconds.

What is your favorite drugstore beauty buy?

Which client have you been working with the longest?
I've been working with Kate Moss since we were 19. We met at a shoot and immediately hit it off and I've been doing her makeup ever since for birthdays, special occasions and her gorgeous wedding to Jamie Hince. She's one of my oldest, closest friends and godmother to my son Flynn.

What's the best thank-you gift you've ever received?
It's too hard to choose! Recently, Tom Ford sent me the most beautifully sumptuous white bouquet of flowers after his incredible Spring 2015 show.
