Jordin Sparks understands that when a real-life couple makes a "Marry Me" music video, there's going to be some pressure to actually get married—or at least engaged.

Ex-boyfriend Jason DeRulo was seemingly overwhelmed by the wedding countdown clock, but Jordin didn't empathize much on that front. "Listen, we set ourselves up for that," she said on The Wendy Williams Show Wednesday. "We set ourselves up for that pressure."

And while the former American Idol winner, 24, called her ex "a great guy," she didn't exactly jump to his defense when asked about rumors of infidelity, telling Wendy,  "I actually don't wanna comment on that."

When Jordin learned that her ex was bringing up the Beamer he gave her for Christmas, though, she replied emphatically, "Hey, he can have it!"

She admitted she initially struggled with the adjustment of living alone (Jason had been living with Jordin in her L.A.-area home up until their split), but has recently been "discovering my neighborhood...finding new places to eat [and] meeting new people...It's been really good."

Wendy encouraged the pop star, too, telling Jordin that her breakup with Jason "is one of the best things that could happen to you."

"In my opiniom, marriage is not for a 24-year-old young lady in this day and age—I mean not now," she explained. "This gives you a chance to get to know you a little bit more. Date around. Have fun!"

Jordin nodded in agreement, telling the talk show host, "I'm excited!"
