UPDATE: Charlie Sheen's longtime dentist Kevin Sands, who did not treat the actor that day, exclusively tells E! News:

"He has been the best patient. He has been generous with everyone. He has never been messed up on anything. He has been on nitrous before. He has been nothing but a gentleman. When he comes in, my whole staff lights up. He tips everyone. He is like the best patient to have. What I am reading doesn't even sound like the same guy. I've never seen Charlie be aggressive ever. I know him personally too. He is just not that guy. He is gentle."

________

Did he really pull a knife on his dentist?

Well, according to the always controversial actor's attorney and publicist, this latest story couldn't be further from the truth.

TMZ first reporting that Sheen was at a medical office last Thursday for an abscess, when he flipped out and went after his dentist shortly after a dental technician placed a mask over his face to administer nitrous oxide.

Police were called to the scene and the technician told cops that Sheen's bodyguard had told the dentist that the former Two and a Half Men star was high on cocaine.

The dentist was also interviewed by police, and claims that the technician was lying and that there was no knife involved in the incident whatsoever.

Marty Singer, Sheen's lawyer, tells E! News in a statement that the story is "completely false" and that the "dental assistant had spoken to her son, who is a hair stylist about Charlie being treated by the dentist. This was overheard by a friend of Charlie's."

Singer's statement continued: "The dentist has confirmed and told the police that no knife was pulled on him by Charlie. Unfortunately, Charlie had a bad reaction when he received the nitrous oxide at the dentist office."

Meanwhile, Sheen's rep tells E! News that Sheen "has a shoulder injury from playing baseball that flares up every now and again for which he takes prescription medication" and that those medications caused the bad reaction to the nitrous oxide.

The publicist added that "there was no knife involved and no illegal drugs."

LAPD confirmed to E! News that an incident occurred last Thursday involving Sheen and his dentist but would not elaborate further as it's still an ongoing investigation.

As of now, the DA's office is not filing any charges.
