Amanda Bynes' parents are in the dark when it comes to their daughter's current situation.

At least, that's what dad Rick Bynes told reporters outside the family's home Monday. In fact, in a video shot by X17 Online, Rick said he and wife Lynn Organ "heard it from the press" that Amanda was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence.

"Nobody from the cops called us," he said. "I know nothing, and the police don't seem to know much, so I don't know."

Rick said he and Lynn, who had a temporary conservatorship over Amanda's affairs through Sept. 10, haven't heard much from their daughter since it ended—"I mean other than greetings," he clarified.

"Once again, she is 28," he said, "she does what she wants."

Rick said that Amanda, who was not released into her parents' care Sunday, hadn't been at the family home since "June maybe, because she was in Irvine going to school."

The She's the Man actress had, indeed, been taking classes at the Irvine, Calif., campus of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM). A source told E! News in July that the Nickelodeon alum, who was on summer break at the time, was looking for an apartment near the school's Orange County campus, which is about 80 miles from her parents' home in a suburban town northwest of L.A.

"You knew that, right?" her father asked reporters. "She was in Irvine, and the thing [temporary conservatorship] ended, and we don't know. So you know what we know."

When asked to "guess" where his daughter might be, Rick said he "thought New York."

"I didn't hear it," he clarified, "but I know she likes New York, so that is what I am thinking."

Amanda is in the midst of a three-year summary probation sentence stemming from her 2012 DUI, and it's unclear how Sunday's arrest will affect this.

Per NBC News, she is expected to appear in court on Oct. 23.
