Donald Trump's a busy guy, so it's understandable that he doesn't necessarily do a bunch of research before responding to each and every tweet in his direction.
But after he unsuspectingly ended up retweeting a photo of English serial killers Fred and Rosemary West, a husband and wife who tortured and killed at least 11 women in the 1960s, he might not be so inclined to do anyone any favors without thinking twice.
"Some jerk fraudulently tweeted that his parents said I was a big inspiration to them + pls RT—out of kindness I retweeted. Maybe I'll sue," Trump explained why he tweeted the pic of the Wests, adding a threat of legal action for good measure.
"I thought I was being nice to somebody re their parents. I guess this teaches you not to be nice or trusting. Sad!" the Celebrity Apprentice host added.
Comedian Philip Bradbury was the one who successfully pranked the real estate titan. The Donald's retweet has since been deleted but not before first being screengrabbed for posterity by Buzzfeed UK.
Surprisingly, Trump didn't offer up his opinion of the state of Bradbury's career ("irrelevant," we'd guess) or call him out by name, but we can imagine what he thinks.
Hi @realDonaldTrump. My parents who passed away always said you were big inspiration. Can you pls RT for their memory? pic.twitter.com/veBxFNXnOd

And while normally we'd conclue that he was just idly threatening to sue, but...well, sometimes he sues.
Meanwhile, Piers Morgan, who won the first season of Celebrity Apprentice, came to Trump's defense, tweeting, "Why should @realDonaldTrump have a clue who Fred & Rose West are? Pretty lame stunt to pull on an American."
That deceptively simple remark provoked all sorts of smears, including one guy's sentiment, "@piersmorgan@realDonaldTrump hope both of you die."
To which Morgan replied, "We all die one day, you silly little boy."
So who wants to agree that this whole thing got way out of hand right around that point?
