Phew!

There was a lot of TV on tonight, and we had a lot of feelings about it. Not only did Survivor premiere, but approximately 4,000 other shows also made their returns to our televisions, and black-ish made its debut.  We've got a lot of feelings about all of it, so let us present to you our brand new, very scientific TV Rants and Raves.

RAVE: Law & Order: SVU: Benson and a baby. We repeat: Benson and a baby. 16 seasons in and Law & Order: SVU is still a thing we can't get over.

RAVE: Red Band Society: You guys already know how much we love Red Band Society, but have we told you lately how much we LOVE Red Band Society? We could barely handle our tearful selves when Jordi found out that he got to keep his leg, but only because his cancer had spread.

RANT/RAVE: Nashville: Pregnancy, hair-chopping, blackmail, live singing, love triangles, love triangle-related dude punching: Nashville had it all tonight, and it was both too much and not enough at the same time.

RAVE: Big Brother: There was no one who deserved tonight's Big Brother win more than Derrick. No one. Not even Victoria, as fun and ridiculous as that would have been to watch.

RAVE: Modern Family: "Abracad-ouch." Phil and Claire doing magic? Gloria dressing down? Luke looking like a weird grown up? Confetti? Balloons?! Sometimes Modern Family reminds us that it's not a bad show. Sometimes, it can even be a great show, worthy of its hundred thousand Emmys. Sometimes.

RANT: Mysteries of Laura: Sometimes terrible pilots get better in their second episode. Sometimes those terrible pilots are Mysteries of Laura and they just get worse. DEBRA MESSING DESERVES BETTER.

RANT: Survivor: We love Survivor, and we love the idea of Blood vs. Water, where loved ones compete against each other in different tribes, but we don't watch Survivor for people saying things like "Half our hearts are missing." Give us backstabbing, not tearful cross-stitch quotes!

RAVE: black-ish: We thought black-ish was not going to be great, but we're actually big fans. Laurence Fishburne can play our cool yet curmudgeonly dad anytime.

RANT: The Goldbergs: It ended well (and by well we mean adorably), but when The Goldbergs' Beverly thought Adam had made a mixtape for her instead of the girl he liked, our cringe levels were off the charts and we actually had to leave the room for a second.

RAVE: Key & Peele: It's back and better than ever, and whatever reason you have for not watching this hilarious and topical sketch show is, frankly, just plain wrong.

So what did you watch tonight? What should we be watching? Let us know in the comments!
