Serious heartbreak can sure lead to some serious breakthroughs.

Nearly two years after finding out her husband, Rupert Sanders, had an affair with Kristen Stewart, British model Liberty Ross is opening up about what she's learned in the always important love department.

"The most valuable thing I can share is the importance of living in truth," she told Grazia, per the Daily Mail. "Sometimes, facing those truths can actually be your worst fear."

She added, "Trusting your gut is always the best thing—no matter what people around you insist you should be doing or saying or thinking. Only you know and once you live in truth your heart is completely free."

Although she has moved on and is in a committed relationship with music producer Jimmy Iovine, Ross has admitted that the separation and subsequent divorce from Sanders was anything but easy.

During a candid interview with Vanity Fair, Ross described the pain she felt once her then-husband broke the news that he cheated just 20 hours before paparazzi shots surfaced online.

"It was horrible. It was really the worst," the mother-of-two told the magazine. "I have no words to describe what we went through. But I think, for me, something always has to completely die for there to be a rebirth. And I feel like I'm going through a rebirth."

That philosophy has propelled Ross to do something not every woman in her situation could do. She has learned to forgive.

"No life is perfect, we all have our problems and issues and I believe that it's good to be true to who you are," she told Harper's Bazaar. "People need to learn to forgive. I have no problem with anyone involved."

Ross and Sanders finalized their divorce on July 23, 2014. They continue to share joint legal custody of their children, Skyla, 10, and Tennyson, 8.
