Just when we thought we knew everything there was to know about the boys of One Direction, we realize there's still so much more to learn!

The five singers are releasing their first official autobiography, Who We Are, on Sept. 25. The book promises to give 1D fans "an unprecedented insight into all of it, from their humble beginnings and lives before the X Factor, to recording their first single, touring the world, winning awards, breaking records, and much, much more."

But while we anxiously wait to find out more about Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Harry Styles, loyal admirers were able to get a sneak peek of what to expect after an extract from the book was reportedly published by The Sun.

So what did we learn?

Well, to start off, readers will become acquainted with the fun story of Malik learning about birth control from—wait for it—Russell Brand. Yeah, random.

Apparently, the interesting exchange happened when the comedian met the One Direction guys backstage at the 2012 Olympics. "Backstage at the Olympics was one of the maddest times I've had with the band," Zayn said in the autobiography. "These crazily famous people were coming up and talking to me. All my life I'd seen them on TV and here they were just chatting away to us."

Then things got a little weird when Brand approached him to congratulate the band on their set at the sporting event's closing ceremony.

"Russell was brilliant. He was saying, 'Your performance was sick.' Then he started giving me family planning advice! I was like, 'Russell, you shouldn't be giving me that sort of advice!' He was hilarious, a really nice guy."

The autobiography also reveals that Styles, the super-hunky lad who has been linked to a number of Hollywood beauties, actually suffered from some confidence issues after being criticized for a poor performance on a Saturday night TV show in the UK early in the band's career.

"I'm naturally a fairly confident person in most situations, but not all," he said. "At that point, any natural confidence I had was being taken over by nerves because back then I had no idea how to channel and control my anxiety."

But 1D's constant performances helped Harry rebuild his self-esteem. "One Direction have always been a band that gigs heavily, so over time I've been able to learn about nerves, to understand why and when they might hit and, best of all, how to control them. Now I know that if your nerves are controlled correctly, it can actually give you a bit of an edge, an extra sense of focus."

Don't forget to grab your copy of the book on Thursday so you can find out more about the guys of 1D!
