Well, at least he's better at dressing for the beach than Justin Bieber

Jared Leto stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday where the 42-year-old stud shared how he spent his summer vacation in addition to dishing on his, er, interesting beach attire.

The Academy Award-winning star revealed he chartered a boat in St. Tropez, where he was joined  by a number of his pals, but instead of spending his time relaxing, he opted to participate in daredevil activities, causing Ellen DeGeneres to exclaim, "What's wrong with you?"

"My brother and I were actually spending all our time during the day jumping off the side of the boat, which was really fun," he said as a photo of the drop off from the top of the yacht was shown on the screen at which point the audience gasped in shock. "It was great but what made it scarier was when we saw a shark."

"It was at least 14 to 15 feet long, I mean the thing was massive and my brother saw it and said, ‘Let's do it,'" he continued as Ellen listened wide-eyed. "And we just jumped in and it was insane."

"That's dangerous!" DeGeneres replied, scolding the Thirty Seconds to Mars musician. "You've got the moneymaker. Look at your face. Don't hurt yourself." (The woman has a point, Leto.)

DeGeneres then proceeded to call out the Dallas Buyers Club star for his beach attire as well as his accessories of choice as a photo of the Oscar winner carrying a suitcase while he strolls through the sand flashes across the screen.

"I always get caught at the beach with like black socks," the handsome thesp admitted with just a hint of shame.

The funnylady also poked fun at Leto's fondness for fanny packs before telling the stud, "You can carry off anything. So I got you something for next time you go to the beach."

She then pulls out two towels, an "Ellen" tote bag and a "satin" fanny pack, which, conveniently, "You can wear it with no clothes and it won't chafe!"

"I feel like I'm ready for the beach now," the actor said as he flashes a thumbs up sign with his Ellen swag in hand.

Now, just take off that shirt, Mr. Leto, and you're ready to hit the sand.
