This whole Drake Bell vs. Justin Bieber thing continues.

Bell has made a number of headlines over the past couple of years for his Bieber-bashing comments, ranging from weighing in on the Biebs' legal troubles to his attempt to get more people to sign a petition to deport the Canadian pop star. Bell has also called Beliebers "the worst most insane fans."

But the 28-year-old singer-actor seemingly struck a low blow earlier this week when he joined a comment thread on Instagram and wrote to a Belieber,"You [sic] idol doesn't even do anything but cause trouble anymore. No music no movies he's just being an idiot." And then, "Oh and I hope you die soon."

The exchange was captured in a screengrab by Gossip Cop.

Initially it seemed as though there had to be some mistake, right? But no, presumably in response to a wave of hatred from Bieber fans and others who were ticked off by his flippant seemingly highly unnecessary jab, Bell confirmed today that, yeah, he wrote that.

He was just firing back though, the former Drake & Josh star insists.

"So a belieber floods me with spam telling me she hopes I die soon over and over so I give it back and I'm the bad guy?! Kids need to chill," Bell tweeted today. He also retweeted a fan's sentiment: "@DrakeBell one of the many things I have noticed that sets you apart from JB, is the massive respect you have for your fans. You're the best."

And that tweet was of course replied to by many anxious to defend Bieber's honor. There were no hopes for imminent death, that we could see.

Bieber has yet to acknowledge Bell's latest jabs on social media.
