We always knew that cats were immortal gods that walk the earth as our furry rulers, even if we call them "pets." We all know who's really in charge. And now we have solid, definitive proof that we need to start worshipping our feline overlords before they truly take over the earth.

A video that was filming a burning building last Thursday in Dauphin, Manitoba captured a black and white cat that was trapped as the structure was ready to collapse. The cat appears to be on a ledge high above the ground, but before it can jump down the building falls apart and the cat disappears into the rubble.

Obviously, bystanders and anyone watching the video fears the worst, but mere seconds later the cat comes strolling out of the debris and smoke like he didn't just cheat death in the coolest way possible. He's not even limping! What a boss cat.

CTV News in Winnipeg reports that the cat, named Sylvester, did suffer some smoke inhalation but was mostly unharmed after the building collapses. He was taken to the Dauphin vet clinic for overnight treatment and was reunited with his owner on Friday.
