This Anti-Drunk Driving Commercial Involving a Puppy Is Now the Most Effective PSA Ever

Don't forget about who you are leaving behind when you go out drinking

Sweet hell, Budweiser. First you ruin us emotionally forever with your heartbreaking Super Bowl commercial featuring a puppy and his horsey best friend and now this?! Well, at least this time the ad is for a good cause, so we can get behind it. We're still crying, though.

Budweiser has released a new PSA against drunk-driving, and this time it involves a puppy. Now you might think this commercial will feature a horrific car accident where a pet gets hurt (that's what we first thought), but we promise no dogs are fictionally harmed in this video. We wouldn't post something like that. Geez, we're not monsters!

But what it does feature is a man who has a doggy best friend, and we get to watch them grow up together. Then one night, the owner goes out drinking with some friends and leaves his dog behind, promising that he'll be home later. Well, the dog waits all night for his buddy to come home, but he never does.

It's a happy ending, we promise, but those ten seconds where you fear the worst and you're sobbing in front of your computer screen because the dog is so sad will be the worst ten seconds of your day. Possibly your life.

Basically, this is one of the most effective drunk driving PSAs ever, and all it does is remind you to think about who you could be leaving behind when you decide to drink and drive.

'Scuse us while we go home to our pets and hold them and squeeze them and promise to never leave them again.
