Prince Harry attended the WellChild Awards today in London to meet with seriously ill kids and brighten their days.

The 30-year-old royal wasted no time chatting with youngsters who are battling various sicknesses.

Harry had an instant connection with a 4-year-old boy named Carson Hartley, who reportedly ran up to Harry and grabbed onto his leg! After the warm welcome, Harry and Carson chatted and hugged during a super-adorable photo op. Harry also learned about Carson's heart defect, which forces him to travel with a portable ventilator at all times.

"We were worried he was going to high-five Prince Harry in the face he was so excited," Carson's mother, Kirsty Hartley, told media at the awards. "Harry got down on his knees and had a big smile on his face while he was chatting to Carson, he couldn't believe how active he was despite all the conditions he has. He said he thought he was inspirational for still being so happy, but he also said that parents must be recognized too for how hard they work, which was really nice to hear."

Too cute!

Harry, who looked dapper in a dark suit and blue tie, also met with a 10-year-old girl named Rachel Hooley, who received the Inspirational Child Award 7–11. The two talked and high-fived while hanging out during the annual event, which awards brave children battling illnesses as well as their families and doctors.

Meanwhile, Olivia Ruston, who won a young hero award for caring for her severely ill sister, gifted Harry with a pottery pig she made to resemble the handsome royal. "I wanted to make him something to say thank you for all the work he does for WellChild," Olivia told the press. "He said he really liked that it looked like him."

So sweet.
