In case you missed the memo, history was made 10 years ago today: Britney Spears and Kevin Federline tied the knot.

And while the Chaotic couple called it quits after two years of marriage and two children back in 2006, the precious pair will always have a place in our hearts as will their adorable little boys—8-year-old Jayden and 9-year-old Sean

So as we marvel at that magnificint wedding photo which appeared exactly one decade ago on the front cover of People magazine (a brunette BritBrit! K-Fed's old-fashioned tux! That dramatic veil!), let's take a trip down Hollywood's memory lane (notice the shot of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston in the corner? R.I.P. Bennifer!) as we look back at the former lovebirds.

A then 22-year-old Spears married Kevin, 26, on Sept. 18, 2004, during a surprise ceremony in Studio City, Calif., held at the home of their wedding planner, Alyson Fox.

The nuptials were originally schduled to be held at the Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara, but when the press got wind of the location, a last minute switcheroo was made and the I-dos were pulled off within a mere 10 days.

"Every person who walked in that night, we handed then an invitation, they opened it up and it said 'surprise!' you are here for the wedding and not the engagement party," Fox, who planned the pair's nuptials, recalls in an interview with Time magazine. "And we would direct them to the room where they would change into their gowns and tuxedos…"

And in case you're wondering why she used the word "tuxedo" instead of "velour jumpsuit," (you remember the headline-making sweat suits the two were photographed in at the wedding?) well, let her explain.

"That's what they left the house in," she insisted. "They were in tuxedos and gowns. Everybody made such a big deal about that, but that's what Juicy did for every celebrity who got married. They'd send them the cute little tracksuits. I asked Britney and Kevin what they wanted printed on the back, and Britney said, 'Maids! Maids will be cute!' And it was. It was cute! And he said 'Pimps' which was adorable…People are closed-minded. It was a joke, it was for fun. It was Juicy tracksuits! Ten years ago people would have given anything for a Juicy tracksuit."

And while pimps and maids may not equal everlasting love, they sure know how to leave their mark on Tinseltown.

So pull out your Von Dutch hat, ditch your shoes, and get ready to flaunt your belly-button ring as we pay tribute to our beloved BritBrit and K-Fed!
