Gloria Steinem will guest star on The Good Wife. The noted author will play herself and now we're already imagining what the feminist activist will say to the likes of Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) and Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski). CBS announced the casting on Twitter.

Steinem will appear later in season six. The Good Wife has welcomed other public figures over the years including former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, current mayor Bill de Blasio and stagiest Donna Brazile.

This is a rare scripted TV appearance for Steinem. She's previously appeared as herself on The Larry Sanders Show and in the movie The First Wives Club.

The Good Wife season six will also include guest stars Kelli Giddish, Carrie Preston, Mike Colter, Steven Pasquale, David Hyde Pierce and Michael J. Fox. Pierce, known for his role on Frasier, will play a candidate for State's Attorney. This is his first major TV role since Frasier ended in 2004.

Season six of The Good Wife picks up right where season five ended.

"One thing they may want to know is the episode premiere of season six starts just seconds after season five ends, so we're not slowing down for even a moment. We're barreling right ahead with our story," co-creator Michelle King told us.

The Good Wife season six premieres Sunday, Sept. 21 at 9:30 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. PT on CBS.
