Ryan Gosling is officially a dad now!

The first-time father and girlfriend Eva Mendes welcomed a baby girl Friday in L.A., and just like Ellen DeGeneres predicted, Ryan and Eva's little lady is "going to be the most beautiful, bilingual, part-superhero, well-dressed, romantic baby ever." (Based on the genetic goldmine she's coming from, this one's just a given!)

Of course, baby girl Gos will be raised right by her proud parents, too. Eva, 40, is sure to be a superstar mama, and we have no doubt that Ryan, 33, is going to be the best dad...ever.

Hey girl, not convinced? Here are six reasons Ryan will raise the bar for fathers everywhere!

1. He Loves His Baby's Mama: Although the Gos is not very public when it comes to his private life, it's clear that he and Eva care a lot about each other. A source told E! News recently Ryan "tells her how sexy and perfect she is all the time," adding, "He really is like Noah in The Notebook! It's kind of an inside joke, but he's really romantic. They are both so happy and in love. They wanted to start a family for a while now."

Swoon. There's no better way to teach a child about love and respect than practice it with their parent!

2. He Sets a Good Example: Let's be honest: Hollywood isn't exactly a place known for its moral high ground, but Ryan has consistently been a decent human being with a good head on his shoulders. He's kept it together, too, evading jail time and even public scandal, despite his beginnings as a child star! Point being, the Gos is good people, and he's the kind of man who will instill values in his child.

3. He Loves His Own Mama: If you want to know how a man is going to treat the women in his life, take a look at his relationship with his mom. Ryan is especially close with his mom, Donna Gosling, who is a frequent guest of his on the red carpet. He couldn't have been prouder either, when, back in 2012, he and Eva attended Mama Gos' college graduation!

4. He's Funny: Successful parenting and a sense of humor go hand in hand, and as you can see, Ryan's not afraid to be silly! In 2010, he and his then-8-year-old Blue Valentine co-star Faith Wladyka had a blast promoting the dark romantic drama. (Frankie, BTW, is the little girl in the top pic, too! Babies grow up fast, but not fast enough for baby Gos to have already made her red carpet debut.)

5. He Loves Animals: They say children and animals are the best judges of character, and the kids (see above) and four-legged (also see above) love Ryan! He is the proud (dog) parent of George, his adopted rescue, and has even brought the pampered pooch with him as a guest on late-night TV.

6. He's Protective: Can't you tell? A dad will do anything to keep his little girl safe from harm, but Ryan's kindness extends even beyond that. Remember, back in 2011, when he stopped a fight in the streets of New York City? The boys better watch out when little lady Gosling gets old enough to date!
