Guardians of the Galaxy's Groot Is Texting Now: Find Out What He's Saying!

If iPhone's Siri gets a little too snarky for you sometimes, you're in luck: Groot is ready to chatbot it up with you.

Actually, the Guardians of the Galaxy tree-like hero isn't a fan of using too many words, but he does reply to texts promptly! So if your phone is ever feeling lonely, just text [phone], and this charming extraterrestrial will reply unfailingly, "I am Groot."

According to TechCrunch, Twilio developer Ricky Robinett created the SMS chatbot as a gag. And while Groot's auto-texted replies aren't actually affiliated with the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, the film's director James Gunn is seemingly a fan.

A lot of people are enamored with the character, who is voiced by Vin Diesel in the flick, and his simple messages. According to developer Ricky's tweets, the bot sent over 10,000 text massages in its first 24 hours. Within two days, Groot had reportedly sent over 60,000 messages!

The developer behind the kitschy creation even joked, "Groot may have a text message addiction."

Hopefully texting with Groot can help tide fans over until Guardians of the Galaxy 2 hits theaters in 2017!
