George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin left a crowd of fans very disappointed today!

On Friday morning, a bevy of people gathered outside the Chelsea Old Town Hall in London to see the actor and his fiancée get married. The lovebirds were rumored to be secretly tying the knot in a civil ceremony today, but it turns out no such ceremony went down.

While Clooney and Alamuddin didn't get married inside Chelsea Hall today, two local newlyweds, Rebecca and Martin English, did. Upon leaving the building after getting married, the Englishes were greeted by the crowd of fans who were waiting for Clooney and Alamuddin!

"We didn't have any idea about this," Rebecca told People today. "When I came in this morning, I just saw this mass of people and started thinking, 'What on earth is that?' Now I know how it feels to be famous!"

Earlier today, the Chelsea Registry office confirmed to E! News that there was no truth to rumors Clooney and Alamuddin were having a civil ceremony today.

"We can confirm that The Chelsea Registry Office is NOT conducting the wedding of Mr. Clooney at the office on Friday 12 September," Emma Strugnell, a public information officer for Chelsea told E! News in a statement.

Guess fans will have to wait just a little longer to cheer for Clooney and Alamuddin on their wedding day.
