E! Canada's coverage of this year's Toronto International Film Festival has been anchored in part by our amazing host Tyrone Edwards. From winning over the celebs on the red carpet to getting deeper with them in one-on-one interviews, Tyrone had the festival completely covered. So we wanted to share his perspective of this year's festival with you. We got his Top 5 TIFF 2014 moments. Take a look!
1) Toronto Love From Denzel Washington:
I'm a Toronto kid so I'm so proud of our beloved TIFF. When I said those exact words to Denzel Washington on the red carpet for The Equalizer he said, "I love this town and when I walk down the street I feel the love back." Almost on cue a fan screamed, "I love you Denzel!" The timing was impeccable and the interview unforgettable.
2) Sharing Fashion Tips With Al Pacino
Donnie Brasco, Scarface, call him what you will, but after my TIFF opening night interview with him at the premiere of The Humbling we are now on a first name basis. I call him Al. He calls me Tyrone. We initially connected because I loved his scarf. The scarf he told me his girlfriend didn't want him to wear. But he had some great fashion advice. "Sometimes you gotta make an individual statement." Noted Al.
3) Snapping Pictures with Jane Fonda
Then there was the time I was interviewing Jane Fonda at the premiere of her movie This Is Where I Leave You. She asked her publicist to take a picture. He did, but we went for the whole candid look and kept going with the interview.
4) Sharing Shoe Swag with David Cronenberg
Another fun part of TIFF for me is getting to rock my fancy clothes and dapper shoes. But when I spoke with legendary Canadian director David Cronenberg it wasn't about me. David was rocking some fire red sneakers. When I pointed them out he was excited to show off that they were custom designed for him, sporting the title of his latest film Maps To The Stars!
5) Smooching with Rosario Dawson
So a few years back I acquired yet another alias, #RedCarpetRexXx, because I'm known to do my thing on the red carpet. As you can see Ms. Rosario Dawson was full of laughs but little did I know she was also full of surprises. At the end of our interview she leaned in for a hug. I obliged and she went in for a big kiss on my cheek. It happens.
