An eyewitness tells E! News that the young royal was thrilled the day Kate and Prince William announced that the Duchess of Cambridge was pregnant with her second child. The princess, who attended the event with Phil Winser, toasted to the announcement of the royal family's imminent addition on Monday evening with a surprising new friend, Orange is the New Black star Uzo Aduba, in the Moët & Chandon suite at the US Open.
Princess Eugenie was in very festive spirits, expressing to Aduba how beyond "excited" she was of the news of the royal baby. She was also overheard saying she had "much to celebrate that night."
"Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child," Clarence House said in a statement Monday. "The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news."
The baby will become fourth in line to the British throne and push Prince Harry to fifth in line.
As with her first pregnancy, Kate is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. "Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today," per the press release. "The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace."
