The 57-year-old Ray Donovan star was spotted out and about with 18-year-old Lyda Loudon, who calls herself a "journalist, activist [and] film guru" on her website.
This isn't the first time Steven and his 39-years-younger gal pal have spent time together. Back in July, the May-December duo attended the Magic in the Moonlight premiere together in Hollywood.
Us Weekly and a handful of other media outlets picked up on the twosome's significant age gap, prompting Lyda's mother, Dr. Gina Loudon, to respond. In a lengthy WND post titled "When Your Child's Private Life Makes the 'News'." In it, Gina admitted she initially struggled to accept her teenage daughter "dating a much older man..."
Lyda's father "was devastated," wrote Gina, causing both her and her husband to question, "What had we done to our precious daughter to make her think such a decision was wise?"
Gina reasoned, however, that, "When parents are confronted with information like this about their adult child, they have essentially two choices: 1) Reject your child, and lose them. 2) Try to find a way to understand them, and love them through the process."
She and her husband chose the latter, because, she wrote, "She is still our daughter."
"We sought advice from our pastor, our family and our closest friends. We sought advice from lawyers and publicity agents," she wrote. "Ultimately, for me, it all came down to one thing. I had one job to do, one thing that mattered more than anything else: loving my daughter."
According to Gina's post, Lyda wants readers to know she and her mother are "closer than ever."
"I am thankful for a daughter who has always loved us," wrote Lyda's mom, "and we stand with her now."
A rep for Bauer, who has a 28-year-old son Alexander with ex-wife Melanie Griffith, did not immediately respond to E! News' request for comment.
