This time around, Rosie O'Donnell says she's going to try doing things a little differently when it comes to co-hosting The View.

"I think it's going to be must-see TV," the 52-year-old tells Variety of her big daytime TV comeback. "My goal is to come in peace. And the contrast between what the show will be and what it was is going to be glaring."

O'Donnell says she wants the long-standing talk show to be smarter than in the past. Much smarter than one particular comment former co-host Sherri Shepherd once made about the shape of the planet. "No one is going to think the Earth is flat," O'Donnell dished. "When I was at home watching that, I thought I was going to have an aneurysm."

It's been about seven years since O'Donnell departed The View. Before she left, she got into an infamous fight with conservative co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who has since left the show. Hasselbeck recently attacked the show's decision to bring back O'Donnell.

"I've come to expect nothing from her, even though I feel I continually make the effort to break through," O'Donnell admits.

As for The View's newest co-hosts Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace, O'Donnell says she's happy about the additions. "I love Rosie Perez," she said. "I didn't even know she was being considered."
