SAMCRO's final ride is off to a smooth start.

Sons of Anarchy returned for its final season on Tuesday night to its biggest audience ever.

The FX drama's seventh season premiere brought in 6.2 million total viewers and a 3.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demo, according to TV By the Numbers, all-time highs for the series.

The 90-minute episode was up five percent from the season six premiere in total viewers, and up 19 percent from the sixth season's finale in December.

And those numbers are likely to go up as FX's SVP of media relations tweeted, "We will issue ratings/analysis for last night's @SonsofAnarchy season 7 premiere episode on Monday (L+3)." Creator Kurt Sutter also tweeted, "Won't have official viewing data until Monday. But I have a good feeling that a few of you may have tuned in to watch the premiere." (Yeah, go with that feeling, Kurt!)

Anarchy Afterword, SOA's aftershow, also did well for the network, attracting 2.6 million viewers and a 1.6 demo rating.

Basically, Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and the club are going out with a bang. And we wouldn't have it any other way.

Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on FX.
