Ironically, DJ Khaled may incur some damages from measures taken to protect himself from damage.

A Florida security firm has sued the rapper and Def Jam South president, claiming he has racked up charges for their services to the tune of $16,417.11 and has yet to pay up.

According to a copy of the lawsuit filed by plaintiff's attorney Elias R. Hilal in Broward County Circuit Court and obtained by E! News, Guardian Professional Security states that the defendant had contracted its services numerous times between February 2011 and this past July, and "without any legal justification, Khaled has refused to compensate Guardian for their services rendered."

The "I Hold You Down" artist broke an oral agreement after he had "personally assured Guardian that they would receive their fees," the complaint alleges.

A source tells E! News that Khaled hired the company for accompaniment to a variety of places, ranging from concerts to the famed Miami strip club King of Diamonds.

Khaled, a Grammy nominee and BET Award winner, made for some funny headlines when he mock-proposed to Nicki Minaj last year during a video interview with MTV News, offering up a massive ring and everything!

Actually, that little stunt had a lot of people wondering...

"I was shocked just like the rest of the world and I was cracking up laughing with the rest of the world, 'cause DJ Khaled is a master at what he does," Minaj later told Funkmaster Flex of New York's Hot 97.

"Khaled is my brother and Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal, y'all. Please let it go," she added. "He was kidding…He's not attracted to me, he doesn't like me. We're brother and sister. He's a big cuddly bear."

Meanwhile, in July Khaled announced that he was partnering with Bang & Olufsen on his own line of headphones, and he just tweeted tonight, "I'm let #holdyoudown go #1 then I'm let 2 more go at the same dam time ! Ha be ready ! Y'all know how I do it! @WeTheBestMusic."
